Glimpse Into My World

Source- Mahik's

HELLO WORLD! THIS IS MAHIKA BANSAL (AKA MAHIK'S), A 14-YEAR-YOUNG POETESS/BLOGGER FROM NORTH INDIA.

INKING MY THOUGHTS BY THE NAME MAHIK’S, I PEN DOWN MY WORDS FRAMING A POETIC MESSAGE TO THE WORLD THROUGH THIS BLOG

I LOVE EXPERIMENTING WITH WORDS AND TRY TO CREATE MY EVERY PIECE WITH ORIGINALITY AND PASSION. I ALSO EXPLORE NEW THOUGHTS AND ENDEAVOUR TO LEARN MORE AND MORE.

I HAVE ENORMOUS DREAMS JUST LIKE ALL OTHER GROWING BUDS OF MY AGE.

I organized a writer's lift chat known as #tweet_talk_mahiks where people tweeted me questions and I tried to answer to as many as possible.
I'm sharing the conversation with you guys and I have added links to their work as well! Do read this post and also check out these amazing people :)
Hope you enjoy it, thanks!

1. A question was put up by my kind twitter friend, OWEN L.P. YU. It really put me in a deep thought!

Q. What does your blog aim to do, and what is the future for it?
A. Well, I created my blog at 13 (Grade 8). Back then, all I wanted was to keep my poetry safe in one place which I can access anytime I want. But later on, I realized that it means so much more to me! It's not about just a blog. It's about your voice being heard by people!
My blog's chief aim is to reach out to people. My most poems are about the reality of life. My site helps me to be the voice of unheard, and my poems help me notice the beauty of life and understand the reality more clearly.
I don't know what the future holds for me. But I wouldn't want my blogging life and my poetic world to go away from me. I would definitely want to continue it as far as I can, and it would be such a pleasure to keep it as my hobby forever!

Q. Pineapple on pizza?
A. Nah, pineapple ain't my thing! not on pizza at least... I'm so sorry to hurt those "pizza" sentiments but I don't like it being a fruit salad

2. JESS LING started a fun conversation! Haha, loved it!

Q. My art πŸ˜‚ and what about you?

source: @Jessling1205 twitter

-Mahika Bansal (Mahik's)

A. I really relish this drawing! I sketched something like this for the first time!

3. VANESH, from my motherland India, reached out to me and asked-

Q. How do you motivate yourself to keep the blog up and running?
A. You guys are my motivation. your love and support keeps me going! I wouldn't be here without you all. Every single like, every share, every comment makes me realize that yes, people care about what I write. and that's what keeps boosting me up to deliver my best content to you!

4. An aspiring poet, HANIYA USMAN made me reveal my favorite book! Please don’t make fun, hehe!

Q. Whose your favourite writer, please recommend a book.
A. Well, there are no favorites! I enjoy reading books that grab my attention!

Recommending a book is a difficult task since I don't know which genre you prefer or what's your mood right now! But if you ask me a general recommendation, then I really prefer "GERONIMO STILTON" for kids.

I always used to read it as a kid and i really think that those books develop an interest in kids to read more and more! that's quite simple, yet wonderful. if you ask me, i can still read them now, haha. you got what I'm trying to say, right? :)

5.CRYSTAL YARBOROUGH, my old “tweet peep” got in touch with me! It’s our first chat in a long-long time!

Q. What made you start writing?
A. In grade 3, I got the homework to compose a poem on my own! My friends copied one from google, but I didn’t want to do the same as them. My favorite teacher provided it and I wanted to impress her, you know!

My grandma was staying with me that time and she helped me write my first poetry! She herself is a great poet and has an amazing talent. I guess I inherit my interest from her!

6. RITA RANA, an amazon published author, showed her participation.... check out!

Q. What are your favourite genres to read?
A. Frankly, it all depends upon my mood. I generally like self-help books and genre humor, but sometimes I stick to anthologies. I'm actually open to all kinds of stuff. whichever grabs my attention!

Q. Except writing, what are your other hobbies?
A. I have many hobbies apart from writing! I am a musicophile & I like playing basketball and swimming. I am totally old school and just admire the 90s movies and music. I also am quite interested in cooking!
I love talking to people and I'm a full chatterbox (but generally I'm not the first one to start a convo "in person"... But when I start talking, you can't shut me down, haha!) I am also a bit of a clumsy person, but I like things my way. I may be the craziest peep you'll ever know because I never know what my mood is! you might be able to guess that I'm super moody... But that's just how I am!

7. ASHUTOSH JHA asked me a very "poetic" question! a poet never divulges the magic! but since he asked......

Q. My question is do you follow a strict rhyme scheme for ur poetry or sometimes the meaning matter more than rhyming? And what is better in ur opinion rhyme or conveying meaning? Coz many poets pay more heeds to rhyme scheme
A. I prefer poems that have a musical touch in them. it attracts the reader and gives it an exotic feel! I'm not saying that poems can't be composed without rhythm but it's my personal opinion that a proper rhyming scheme is essential to some extent!

8. Look who's here! my 501st twitter follower BRIGIT PETTIT! I was giggling the whole time replying to her question. wait for it, you'll know why XD

Q. Have you ever thought about turning your poetry into song lyrics?
A. Holy moly! how did you know that!!!!! I try it like, all the time! But then I realize that I need to work on my musical skills first, haha! I would love to compose a song one day though!

Q. What are your goals for the month of August?
A. Well, it's my favorite month of the year! We've got monsoon, so many birthday parties (not this year though!), and my big day as well (9 Aug)!

My plans are to do a podcast with GLADYS, enjoy my and my father's birthday, prepare for my mid-term school assessments (not so happy about it, hehe), enjoy rains, and... yeah, that's pretty much it for now! Let's see what else I catch up on the way!

9. Next, we have QUINN, a keen reader, with a very interesting question!

Q. If you could give one advice to youngsters out there. What would it be?
A. Well, I myself am a youngster, a kid rather! I'm just 14, dear! So, no comments.....I need people to guide me on my way!

10. ARRIAH K. reached out to me with quite a thoughtful interrogation...

Q. What are your future plans with writing?
A. Okay, so I never made a public statement about it until now. I'm planning to publish my anthology book, the coming year and hope you all will like it.

11. The beautiful ISABEL EMPATH asked me something I had to give a strong thought about!

Q. Are all of your poems inspired by events that happened in your life or do you gather inspiration for somewhere else?
A. Not all poems are based on my life experiences, but some of the deepest ones might be relatable. I generally don't pick a topic to write on! I basically observe the notions around me and pen it down. There are so many stories other than mine which need to be emphasized. As I discussed in my other answers, I like being the voice of unheard.

12. A recent twitter friend, LORI COOPER joined my tweet talk as well!

Q.  What's the best blog you have ever written?
A. I assume you mean blog post... Well, all of them are my favorite! I usually write a poem and publish it on my blog as a separate post.

However, this one is the longest post I have ever written. I would surely love to do some real blogging, but unfortunately, I am unable to spare much time right now. It's my high school this year, furthermore, this pandemic has made everything so uncertain, so already there's so much to grapple with.

13. The new members of twitter's writing community THE LEORA FRIENDS (Himani Aggarwal and Japneet Kaur) connected with me for a delightful conversation!

Q. Leora is keenly interested in knowing the mind behind the words...
A. Thanks for showing your interest! The soul behind it all is a 14-year young girl, Mahika! (turning 15 in 2020).

I first wrote my first poem as a school assignment and then I developed interest in it!

I just feel the words and pen down my thoughts!

14. My school buddy, SAUMYA GUPTA, a talented artist, joined me as well!

Q. So, I actually have two questions- How do you write so well??! Your way of expressing yourself is wonderful!:) And what are your sources of inspiration?
A. Thanks for the compliment, sweetie! Ummm, there's no answer for that. One just needs to find a calm place, feel the music within, sprinkle a pinch of magic, and voila! And that magic is nothing but a jar of flowing emotions!

I believe that inspiration is all around us! Everything that grabs your attention has a story! You just need to identify it! Listen to your heart and start penning it down! Simple :)

And c'mon, you yourself are a splendid writer, and not to forget your art skills! ;-)

15. RICHARD MCDONALD, a passionate poet, also supported me for my tweet talk!

Q. What inspires you to write poetry?
A. As I expressed previously as well, everything around us is an inspiration. One just needs to concentrate and ink it down. Look around you. The world is so wide that it's impossible to pen down everything.

But one should always try to cover as much beauty as possible and covert it into poetry! The secret to poetry is nothing but an endless sea of free-flowing imagination and unconfined emotions!

16. HANISHA BHUPATHIRAJU, a young writer, and my new twitter buddy showed her contribution as well!

Q. Love your poetry. I have 2 questions. What poem of yours are you most proud of? Is there a specific poet or poem that pushed you towards writing?
A. Thanks a lot! I am in love with all of my poems, haha! But my most successful poem is "BATTLE WARRIORS: THE SOLDIERS..." It secured under 50 rank in Tata Young Expression 2019 and it also appeared in a very renowned Indian newspaper, The Times Of India (TOI) on 19 January 2020. This poem is also available on some other sites as well!

Yes, the poem " the road not taken" by Robert Frost inspired me to write my poem THE UNTRAVELLED ROAD, JUDGED SO MORE... The road not taken is one of my favorite poems!

17.
My wonderful supporting friend, GLADYS, contributed too!

 Q. What's a topic you'd love to write about but finding the most challenges with?
A. I love to write about the joy and laughter all around us. But that's a genre I struggle most with. I'm an amateur poet and am still in my learning phase. Funny poems need an active imagination, I guess. And I generally write about reality. So, that's the part I really have to work on.

Q. What kind of emotion do you hope to bring out of people who read your work?
A. I try to make people lost in thoughts after reading my poem. I try to make it deep and relatable.

Heart touching poems are the strongest and they leave an everlasting influence on people. I want my poems to impact my readers positively! People want their thoughts to be heard. The emotions and the words of their souls which they generally aren't able to see or express. And, I want to be the voice of unheard. I guess we can establish a good team. What do you say?  ;-)

18. VYBAV joined me for my tweet talk for a very interesting chat!

Q. What is the inspiration behind your blog?
A. Inspiration is like air. It's omnipresent. One just needs to breathe it in :) My inspiration is everywhere! I get the ideas for my blog/poems from everything which catches my interest.
But it's you guys who keep me going! My readers make me realize that my words matter! That they have a place in the world. Every comment, every like, every share, gives me a much-needed boost! I appreciate your support!

Q. From when are you in love with poetry?
A. Poems were always an attraction for me, but I never got so deep in it until grade 7 (12 years), when I wrote my very first independent poem. Then I began practicing my writing skills and soon created my blog at the age of 13! And now, I want to continue my hobby as far as possible!

Q. What's your favourite quote?
A. "You can't fly unless you let yourself fall" - Justin Bieber's song, Fall

Okay, I'm a belieber, but that's not why this quote is my favorite! This literally has a deep meaning and it keeps me motivated :)

19. IDYLLIC ENDEAVOUR showed her participation to boost up my day!

Q. When writing, what around you inspires you, this could be for characters, plot or locations?
A. I think that whatever attracts me, inspires me, in some way or the other! I am always looking for some new ideas, but the theme surely depends on my mood and location. The atmosphere and the feel around lead me to a selective alike piece and my mood enhances the power of my words! I think everything impacts you and every aspect blends together to make the perfect piece!

Q. writing can sometimes feel very isolated, how do you deal with this?
A. Yes, for sure writing leaves me isolated and lost from the world, but it has its own magic! I am not a person who likes silence around. Doesn't matter if I am a part of the amusement or not. But I like liveliness around!

And writing stuff and my blogging life keep me locked up in one place, and I don't like the isolated feel. There are only two ways to stay away from that goofy situation.

Either stop writing for the moment and enjoy with others, or write something so amazing that makes you lose the track of time :-) If you get lost in your piece, if it feels as if the magic takes over your brain, then you regret nothing and you don't feel the emptiness around. I can't explain that feeling in words, but trust me, it works way better than it sounds!

20. My great helping hand, DANNI CONNELLY started a very interesting chat!

Q. Are there a few common themes that come up a lot in your poetry? If so, what are they?

A. I don't aim at a particular theme for my poetry, but somehow I mostly get them related to the reality of life or the hidden truths. I prefer writing about the beauty of life, as well as the dark sides! I am open to all subjects and try to get as deep as possible!

21. AJTALK, a content-rich site reached out to me as well!

Q. What motivates you to write blogs on a consistent basis?
A. I am a high school student and sometimes, it's very hard to cope up! My mom believes in quality and not quantity... She always encourages me to give my best whether I compose a poem weekly or monthly. I try to maintain the form and consistency as well! She helps me grow in the right way and she pushes me towards my best performance and that's my motivation to be consistent! Plus, I always (okay... mostly) have a backup poem to post when I cannot publish a new one so that my blog doesn't go through any speed breaker!

Q. Who is your inspiration behind your writings?
A. As I say, I couldn't have done it without a wonderful audience! and I can't grow without you guys. You all motivate me to continue my hobby and your appreciation gives a boost to my day!

22. ABBEY (who tweeted the first ever appreciation note for my blog in the twitter world <3) joined me for my tweet talk!

Q. So far in blogging, have you ever felt like quitting. Like you just can't keep up with the blog mad about everything that goes along with it. If you've, what has inspired you to keep doing what you do?
A. Yes, sometimes I feel that it's so much work as for a hobby. And the pressure sometimes is despicable. But it's not always like that. When I do something good, then it gives me an incomparable bliss, and that feeling is the best! It overpowers all the tension and puts every frown face behind!

And I feel miserable without my blog. I can't live without it :) So it's worth it. it's a sweet pain which brings me happiness and I love to live with it :-)

23. ANOOP KUMAR SINGH asked me about the poem structure...

Q. My question was whether one should follow the prescribed approach of Thesis-Antithesis-Synthesis or should one let follow one's thoughts? Does your final piece loses its sheen if you give your thoughts a fly?
A. One should let their thoughts flow! Your readers want something to touch their souls. and to create a masterpiece, let your soul speak to the world through your words. I don't believe in getting technical and thus losing the actual feel of the poem. But yes, if you can keep a balance in being professional and being original, then you're good to go! I try to keep a balance, but I'm more biased towards the voice of heart!

No, it doesn't lose its sheen! Not at all! It actually enhances the power of your words! Give it a try! Letting your thoughts set free and go wild is the best thing you can do for your writings :-)

24. EMAH connected to our conversation also!

Q. What topic do you enjoy writing about the most?
A. Life!

One word explaining all about my poetry! :)

25. A.X. ORIGNALS asked me a question that every blogger struggles with!

Q. What do you do when you are stuck while composing a poem or writing a story or an article?
A. I try reassembling some jumbled thoughts I have in my head and try to make some sense out of it. If I get nothing, then I simply take a short break and get back to it when I'm ready to pull it off!
